Mode Of Evaluation

Even though examinations are a good gauge of a student's levels of assimilation and comprehension, St. Mary's operates on the philosophy that examinations by themselves, do not constitute an efficient and reliable test of student ability.  Along with theoretical base of knowledge, the student's pragmatic skills, initiative, intelligence and decision making abilities are also tested and graded. This is particularly pertinent to the graduate and postgraduate levels. The continual assessment system will comprise:

a.   Daily evaluation of academic and other activities by the faculty.

b.   Quiz Tests.

c.   Midterm and Term Examinations.

d.   Regularity and punctuality.

e.   Assignments and Research Projects.

f.   Formal Presentations.

g.  Observations, remarks and grading of Sponsoring Organizations in the
     case of Research Projects etc.
